Zuhaitz Akizu is a multi-faceted Basque historian and artist who lives in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. He is the director of the Techical Museum of East Iceland and co-director of Ströndin Studio.

In this interview he tells us about his project of searching for a less chemical photography, in which he goes back to the beginnings of the 19th century techniques and experiments with organic components. He also tells us about the connection between the Basque Country and this small Icelandic village, specially through a series of four hundred years’ old Basque-Icelandic dictionaries, and about his life in Iceland.
